- Anne Hathaway is refuting online speculation over whether she's had a facelift.
- "The speculation has gotten so loud that you do feel the need to just get your truth out there," the *Devil Wears Prada 2 *actress said in an interview with *Elle*.
- While denying recent plastic surgery, Hathaway did share she's open to a facelift in the future.
Anne Hathaway is setting the record straight when it comes to her age-defying appearance.
Speaking with *Elle*, the 43-year-old Oscar winner discussed how she's moved past "Hathahate" — intense public backlash against Hathaway that peaked during her 2013 Oscar win for *Les Misérables* — and isn't paying any mind to internet speculation about her having had a facelift.
Hathaway had reportedly posted an Instagram video the night before their interview showing off the actress' hairstylist trick to giving Hathaway's face a lift — essentially pulling two small braids near each temple.
When asked if the video was a way to deny recent facelift rumors, the *Devil Wears Prada 2 *actress said, "I wouldn’t say pointed. But we’re at a time when people feel very confident in assuming what they think is fact, and sometimes what they think is accurate and sometimes it’s not."

Hathaway continued, "My preference would be to never comment on anything and to just live in the mystery and not draw attention to myself, but the speculation has gotten so loud that you do feel the need to just get your truth out there."
She added, "And I’ll probably always wonder, ‘Should I have posted that or not? Should I have just kept going and done the thing that makes me happy and makes me feel more confident on the red carpet?’ But I felt like the conversation was becoming distracting."

The *Mother Mary *star noted that when it comes to online theories about whether she's had plastic surgery or not, "these are huge medical decisions that people are presuming" and posting the video was her way of showing her features are not from going under the knife and are instead the result of "just two braids."
Looking to the future, Hathaway said nothing is off the table. "I might still get a facelift someday," she admitted. But for now, the actress is seemingly sticking to useful braiding to achieve a more youthful appearance.
