Scott Mills, the longtime British radio presenter and host of BBC Radio 2's *The Breakfast Show*, has been fired following allegations of 'personal conduct.'

“While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC,” a spokesperson for the outlet said in a statement to **.

Although the outlet did not provide any further details about the departure, both the BBC and *The Mirror* have reported that Mills' dismissal follows allegations relating to his 'personal conduct.'

Representatives for Mills did not respond to EW’s request for comment.

Mills took over as the host of Radio 2’s *Breakfast Show* in January 2025. However, he has been absent from the program since March 25, with host Gary Davies filling in for him.

In an internal note to staff obtained by EW, the BBC’s Director of Music Lorna Clarke acknowledged that news of Mills’ axing would come as a “shock” to colleagues.

“I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC,” she wrote. “I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock. Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programmes on R1, 5Live, R2 and TV.”

Still, she noted, “I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity.”

Clarke added that the news will “come as a shock to our audience and loyal breakfast show listeners too” and that she plans to “update everyone with more information on plans for the show when I’m able to.”

She concluded, “While I appreciate many of you will have questions, I hope you can understand that I am not going to be saying anything further now.”

Fellow BBC Radio 2 host Jeremy Vine reacted to Mills’ firing after a news bulletin about his dismissal was read during his lunchtime program on Monday.

“Obviously, I was taken aback by that opening story to the news,” Vine said. “I had not heard anything about it until 17 minutes ago, when it was on the BBC website, and I only had the information that was given to you in the bulletin.”

He continued, “I have nothing more, that it was allegations about Scott Mills’s personal conduct, which have led to him being sacked. I have no more than that. Alright, on to today’s show.”

Mills has worked with BBC Radio since 1998, starting first at Radio 1 before making the move to Radio 2 in 2022. He also hosted a weekend program BBC Radio 5 Live and appeared on *Strictly Come Dancing* in 2014.
