Colman Domingo didn't hold back as he mocked Elon Musk's plans to create an AI-generated version of The Odyssey, taking aim at the billionaire during his stint as guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The Oscar-nominated actor used his opening monologue on Wednesday night's show to poke fun at Elon after the tech billionaire announced that his AI chatbot, Grok, would produce what he described as a "historically accurate" adaptation of Homer's epic poem. Addressing Elon's criticism of Christopher Nolan's film, Domingo joked, "By historically accurate, he means whiter than Christmas at Cracker Barrel."
He continued, "Of course, this is all because Elon and his Musketeers are upset over the diversity casting of The Odyssey." Elon recently claimed that before the end of the year, Grok "will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer." He also shared a three-minute AI-generated scene based on the ancient poem, which had been created by a Grok user.

Colman questioned the logic behind the billionaire's comments. He quipped, "And I don't want to get technical here, but you can't make a historically accurate version of something that is totally made the f--- up."
The actor is the latest Hollywood star to criticize Elon over his campaign against Christopher's adaptation. Earlier this week, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson also hit back at the Tesla and SpaceX boss in a post on X.

Addressing Elon directly, Scott wrote, "Clearly @elonmusk doesn't know s--- about cinema & he stopped reading in his 20s." Elon has repeatedly criticized Christopher's adaptation of The Odyssey over what he sees as its casting choices.
In March, the billionaire claimed, "Chris Nolan is an anti-White racist" after Lupita Nyong'o was cast as Helen of Troy. He also said, "Chris Nolan has lost his integrity" and described the casting as an "insult" to Homer.
Shortly after The Odyssey premiered in theaters on July 17, the billionaire took to X, announcing that before the end of the year, his artificial intelligence tool Grok “will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.” Many fans of the movie and the historic mythological poem slammed the idea, including prominent figures in the entertainment space.
The Odyssey is an ancient Greek epic poem written by the famed poet Homer around the 8th century BC. The story follows the heroic king of Ithaca, Odysseus, and his journey to return home after the ten-year-long Trojan War.

This journey includes a number of mythological creatures, including a one-eyed cyclops, witches, alluring sirens, and other sea monsters. While the story is largely fiction, historians believe the narrative is rooted in real historical events, including the actual Bronze-Age Trojan War.
Unlike Elon's idea, Christopher Nolan's work scarcely uses CGI effects and does not incorporate AI technology. The majority of the movie's scenes were created through prosthetics, stunts, and real-life locations.
The Odyssey also features a star-studded cast, including actors Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson, among many others.
