- Trump Jr. and his fiancée, Bettina Anderson, got engaged in December after a year of dating.

Donald Trump has officially RSVP'd "no" to his son Donald Trump Jr.'s wedding this weekend.

"While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so," the president wrote in a Truth Social post on Friday. "I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!"

The announcement comes one day after the president told reporters in the Oval Office that he's "gonna try and make it" to his eldest child's nuptials to socialite Bettina Anderson.

"He'd like me to go, but it's going to be just a small, little, private affair," Trump responded when asked if he'll attend the ceremony. "I said, 'You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.'"

The U.S. and Israel have been engaged in a war against Iran since late February.

The president also said whether or not he attends the wedding is something he can't "win on."

"If I do attend, I get killed. If I don't attend, I get killed," he said, adding that he has known Anderson, "for a long time" and that "hopefully they're going to have a great marriage."

Trump Jr. and Anderson are reportedly tying the knot before an intimate group of loved ones on a private island in the Bahamas on Saturday, May 23, Page Six reported. He was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018, and they share five children. He started dating Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2018, and the couple got engaged in 2022, but they called off the engagement two years later, PEOPLE reported at the time. Not long after, he and Anderson began dating.**

Trump Jr. proposed to Anderson in December 2025 after they were together for a year.

"I'm not usually at a loss for words because I'm usually doing the ranting and raving really well," he said, sharing the news that month at the White House. "I want to thank Bettina for that one word: 'Yes.'"********
