Giada De Laurentiis proudly announced her mother's new handbag collection: VDL by Veronica De Laurentiis, a handbag company

Giada noted that her mom has always been a "fashionista" and congratulated her for following her dreams

The news comes just after Giada celebrated Jade's acceptance into college

Exciting and fashion-forward things are happening for the De Laurentiis family.

In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Dec. 16, Giada De Laurentiis, 55, shared a carousel post announcing her mother, Veronica's, new business venture: VDL by Veronica De Laurentiis, a handbag company.

Following a photo of the three generations of De Laurentiis women, Giada, Veronica and 17-year-old Jade, Giada spoke about her mother's longtime passion for fashion in a video. "My mother, who is 75, has started a business," the clip began. "She's always been super into fashion. She designed bags for Fendi at one point. My grandmother's always been into fashion. My mom's always been a little bit of a fashionista and has always had great fashion style. Anyway, she started a bag company."

She went on to praise her mother, calling her "inspiring," for starting a new business at the age of 75. "I feel it tells all us ladies that it's never too late to do something if you dream of doing it," she added. Giada then showed off one of the bags, a brown fur handbag that comes with tassels and a tag with a hand-drawn image of Veronica's face, which the 75-year-old sketched herself, noted Giada.

"I'm really inspired by her passion and her belief that it's never too late to start doing something that you love," said Giada. "I'm so proud of my mom."

Also included in the carousel, which is a shared post with VDL's new Instagram page, are two slides featuring two other variations of the fur bags - the chocolate brown with gold-colored hardware and a black bag with silver hardware. Another slide features Jade posing with the black bag hanging off her shoulder.

The website describes the collection as "a love letter to family tradition across generations," with a note from Veronica that reads, "This Collection is a dream come true and an homage to my mother, daughter and granddaughter who value family traditions and the pursuit of dreams. I hope you enjoy the Collection as much as I did creating it."

The touching news comes just after the proud mom shared a video of Jade nervously opening a college acceptance letter. In the video, the teen questioned what would happen if she didn't get in, to which her mom quickly pointed out that they'll simply go to "phase two."

But shortly after a few deep breaths, Jade pressed a button off-screen and immediately exclaimed, "I got in!" leading the mother-daughter duo to jump and scream on camera.
