President Donald Trump is wrapping up 2025 with a speech.

He will deliver a live primetime address from the White House on Dec. 17 to recap the first year of his second presidential term, as well as discuss his agenda for the next three years.

“My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME!” Trump announced via Truth Social on Dec. 16.

The announcement sent television networks scrambling, with all major broadcast outlets — including ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC — expected to clear their 9 p.m. ET primetime schedules to air the live address.

Trump’s live address on Dec. 17 is set to disrupt primetime schedules across all major broadcast networks.

At CBS, the three-hour Survivor season 49 finale will be put on hold to make room for the speech. The episode begins at 8 p.m. ET, and the network said the finale will “resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers.”

Fox will also pause its regularly scheduled programming. The season finale of The Floor, hosted by Rob Lowe, is slated to air from 8 to 10 p.m. ET, with the final 16 contestants competing for the $250,000 prize. The two-part episode will be interrupted for the address and continue once Trump concludes his remarks, according to Deadline.

ABC and NBC both have holiday programming on tap for the evening. ABC is scheduled to air iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, while NBC plans to broadcast Christmas in Nashville with Trisha Yearwood.

The Jingle Ball was set to run from 8 to 10 p.m. ET, while the one-hour Christmas in Nashville was scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. ET. ABC is expected to temporarily halt the concert special and pick back up on a delay. NBC, meanwhile, will play a special covering the address before airing Christmas in Nashville.

By contrast, his address to the nation in June 2025 lasted roughly four minutes.

On Dec. 16, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president’s remarks will focus on what she described as the administration’s “historic accomplishments” since January 2025, along with Trump’s priorities for the next three years.

“It's going to be a really good speech. I was just in the Oval Office with the president discussing it," she told reporters, per ABC News. "He's going to talk a lot about the accomplishments over the past 11 months, all that he's done to bring our country back to greatness and all he continues to plan to do to continue delivering for the American people over the next three years."
