Jeff Hardy reached deep into his TNA past on the July 23 edition of TNA iMPACT!, reviving one of the darkest characters of his career during the cinematic “Righteous Deletion” match.

The shocking transformation came at a pivotal moment in an already chaotic battle, changing the complexion of the contest without revealing its outcome from the outset.

The bout, taped at the iconic Hardy Compound, served as the culmination of an eight-month rivalry between The Hardys and The Righteous.

The cinematic encounter embraced the trademark unpredictability of Matt Hardy’s Broken Universe. The Hardys defended the TNA World Tag Team Championships against Vincent and Dutch in a match filled with teleportation, dream sequences, fireworks, and supernatural twists.

Among the memorable moments, Reby Hardy and the Hardy children even joined the action, taking the fight to Dutch inside the ring before the rivalry spilled across the compound once again.

The defining moment came after an explosive fireworks battle. Vincent and Dutch gained the upper hand by throwing both Matt and Jeff Hardy into the Lake of Reincarnation.

While Matt emerged unchanged, Jeff disappeared beneath the water one more time before resurfacing as “The Antichrist of Professional Wrestling,” the persona he originally introduced during his 2010 TNA World Championship reign.

To complete the callback, Jeff emerged carrying his custom TNA Immortal Championship belt from that era, turning the segment into a full-circle moment for longtime fans.

With the momentum swinging back in The Hardys’ favor, Jeff climbed to the top of a bulldozer’s bucket and launched a breathtaking Swanton Bomb through tables onto The Righteous. The spectacular dive secured the victory and allowed Matt and Jeff to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

The Hardys then put the finishing touch on the feud by tossing Vincent and Dutch into the Lake of Reincarnation, bringing the cinematic showdown to its fitting conclusion.
