Jim Ross doesnāt think Vince McMahon is finished with pro wrestling, but he also doesnāt believe the former WWE chairman will end up in AEW. Ross believes that buying an existing company like TNA Wrestling could be a realistic option instead.
On the latest episode of Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on McMahonās future. Ross said that if McMahon returns to wrestling, he will likely do it his own way.
McMahon has stayed away from wrestling since leaving WWE because of his ongoing legal issues. Even so, Ross feels itās hard to imagine someone like McMahon staying away from the business forever. Ross explained that wrestling is what McMahon knows best, so if he ever decides to return, thatās probably where he will end up.
Jim Ross doesnāt see Vince McMahon joining AEW
During the podcast, host Conrad Thompson asked whether McMahon could ever work with Tony Khan in AEW. Ross quickly dismissed the idea. He also believes Tony Khan probably wouldnāt be interested in bringing McMahon into AEW.
āUnlikely. Unlikely. Heās going to want to steer his own ship, build his own boat and take it from there. Off top of my head, Iād say probably not. And I donāt see Tony Khan wanting to do business with him either,ā Ross said.
Ross pointed out that McMahon spent decades running WWE exactly the way he wanted, so it would be difficult for him to take a smaller role in another company.
However, Ross does think buying an existing wrestling company is possible. When Thompson mentioned the idea of McMahon purchasing TNA Wrestling, Ross agreed that it could happen.

āOf course itās possible. Money wonāt be an object. Heās got the cash to do whatever the hell he wants, at least thatās what I think,ā Ross said.
Buying a company like TNA would give McMahon an established roster, championships, television deals, and years of history. It would also be much faster than starting a brand-new promotion from scratch.
Ross added that he simply canāt picture McMahon staying away from wrestling forever.
āI canāt see him migrating too far from the barn where all the animals are. That would be my guess. Thatās all it is, is a guess, that heās going to be doing something that allows him to display his product knowledge. And God almighty, heās got plenty of product knowledge. He should be fine,ā Ross said.
Ross made it clear that he wasnāt sharing inside information. These were just his personal thoughts.
