John Travolta cuddled his family’s dog, Peanut, in an adorable video posted on Instagram

The Grease actor said in the clip, “Did we just have a bath?” as Peanut snuggled up to his face in bed

On Thursday, Sept. 17, the Grease actor, 72, posted a sweet video on Instagram showing himself cuddling up to the family’s dog Peanut after the pup’s bath.

Travolta adopted Peanut for his son Benjamin, 15, on the same day that the little dog made an appearance at the Academy Awards back in 2022.

The star said in Thursday’s clip, “Did we just have a bath?” as Peanut snuggled up to his face in bed.

“You’re so clean. Are you so clean?” Travolta added, as the pup sat upright and began licking his face while the Hairspray star laughed.

“Yes, you’re so clean,” Travolta said, kissing his beloved dog, and saying, “I’m so proud of you.”

Travolta captioned the clip, “Peanut is happy after having a bath.”

Peanut — once known to the world as Mac N Cheese — has made multiple appearances in Travolta’s social media posts through the years.

Travolta adopted the pup for his son after Jamie Lee Curtis brought her on stage as she honored Betty White and her dedication to animal welfare during the Oscars In Memoriam segment in 2022.

The dog, along with a few other pups, was found “dumped in a box” outside the Avenal Animal Shelter in Avenal, Calif., Paw Works co-founder Chad Atkins previously told PEOPLE.

Peanut had been dropped off at the shelter alongside her three siblings and their mother, and by the time the 94th Academy Awards rolled around, she was the only one who had yet to find a home. While a trained dog was initially going to be picked for the Oscars segment that year, Curtis refused.

“It was actually Jamie Lee Curtis who said, ‘No, no, no, we can’t do that. Betty White is known for her compassion for four-legged friends, and she was always a huge advocate of animal rescue. It has to be a rescue animal,’ “ Atkins said at the time.

Travolta locked eyes with the pup after the show, and held her for 30 minutes, before agreeing to adopt her.

“So it’s happily ever after for her now,” Atkins, who brought the dog to the Travolta family the following day, previously added.

Travolta has since shared several sweet moments with the rescue pup, including a photo of them sharing a slice of cheese pizza in 2023, a pic of them in the cockpit together in 2024, and many more.
