Julianne Hough is open to love – but with a few important specifications.
The "Dancing with the Stars" host told E! News in a recent interview that she focuses more on a person's aura or vibe than anything else.
"It's all energy-based," she told the outlet. "I don't really have a type. It's more connection, and that's it." Hough is gearing up to host "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on a sister broadcast with ex-partner Ryan Seacrest. The pair dated for three years beginning in 2010, before later marrying hockey player Brooks Laich. The latter couple were married from 2017 to 2022.

"I'm always looking for love, whether it's in a romantic sense or friends," Hough, 37, continued. "Always."
For now, though, Hough is eager to kick off 2026 in Las Vegas with a New Year's countdown live on ABC from Sin City. She's hosting alongside football player Rob Gronkowski, whom she told E! she was hoping to get on "Dancing with the Stars."
"I just said to him, 'I feel like we should do some fun dance TikToks.' I'm trying to get him on [DWTS]. That would be really fun," she told the outlet. "I think I can teach him a whole season's worth of dancing if we have some tequila and [are] ready to pop bottles in Vegas for New Year's Rockin' Eve."
