LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors and investigators in Southern California are seeking additional victims and witnesses after charging Clinton Adams, also known as hip-hop musician Clintn Lord, with rape counts "against multiple victims."
In a Dec. 9 news release, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office detailed four felony charges against Adams, 32, who pleaded not guilty to each count during a Nov. 21 arraignment. He is charged with three felony counts of forcible rape and one felony count of assault with the intent to commit rape.
Adams, of Los Angeles, is in custody on $1,475,000 bail, the district attorney's office said. He faces 90 years to life in California state prison if convicted, according to prosecutors. Adams' preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 21.
Clinton Adams, aka 32-year-old rapper Clintn Lord, pleaded not guilty to four felony rape charges and could face life in prison if convicted.
USA TODAY reached out to Adams' attorneys for comment.
The district attorney's office claims Adams sexually assaulted "two women he lured to a vacant area impacted by January wildfires" in separate incidents over the summer. According to Los Angeles Superior Court records, the first incident allegedly took place on June 29, while the second alleged victim was assaulted on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8.
Both women reported the attacks to the authorities and identified Adams by name, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
"These women showed courage by coming forward to report their assaults," District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said in a statement, adding that investigators believe there may be additional victims.
