Sean Hayes is looking back at his rather intimate first encounter with Drew Barrymore.

The *Will & Grace *alum revealed that he and the talk show host met at a bash in the '90s — and got along so well that they ended up sharing a bathroom.

"So, in 1998, I did a movie that was at the Sundance Film Festival called *Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss*," Hayes recalled on *The Drew Barrymore Show* on Wednesday. "As soon as I came back, I was auditioning — and it was before* Will & Grace* — and I saw you at a party and you're like, 'Oh my God, I have to go to the bathroom!'"

Turns out, so did Hayes. "I'm like, 'I do, too!' We both went in the bathroom and peed in front of each other," he told Barrymore as the audience laughed. "You don't remember that?"

Barrymore sat back in her seat, seemingly stunned at the revelation. "Um, I sort… no," she confessed. "But I remember that setting and that time. I loved that movie."

Hayes acknowledged that the pair were still pretty young when their restroom bonding experience occurred. "You were 22 years old, and I was 26 years old," he said.

Barrymore quickly pivoted the conversation from their pee break to the piano, which Hayes learned to play as a kid.

"I started when I was 5 years old," he recalled. "I came home from preschool or something. My mom’s like, 'The woman across the street is giving piano lessons. Do you want to take piano lessons?' I literally said, quote, 'I'm not doing anything else.'"

Hayes explained that he continued to play throughout his childhood and into college.

"I was a piano performance major and conductor, and I thought that was what I was gonna do with my life," he said. "And then I got a gig at a theater in the suburbs of Chicago, and then I saw all my friends auditioning in downtown Chicago for, like, commercials and movies and things. I was like, 'I've always wanted to do that.'"

So he started auditioning and found success in commercials. "I was like 23, 24 years old and I'm like, 'If I'm gonna do it now, I can always have [piano and conducting] to fall back on when I come to Chicago,'" he said.

"I'd never been to Los Angeles," Hayes added. "I just drove out with a friend. Got an apartment with somebody I knew in Chicago, and there it is. And then got that movie I mentioned and then got *Will & Grace*."

This wasn't the first time that one of Barrymore’s bathroom breaks ended up a topic of discussion on her talk show. Back in January, the *50 First Dates *star recalled getting stopped for public urination with Luke Wilson on the way to a Beck concert.

"There I was, like, peeking out of the bushes like, 'Hi!'" she said at the time.

Wilson remembered the moment well, noting that authorities "detained us for a little bit and frisked us."

Barrymore said the pair were let go with a warning and continued on their way to the gig.

"We did — and it was a great concert!" Wilson said. "It was funny."
