Actor Anson Mount has been allowing fans to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the production of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' fifth and final season.

In a December 9 Instagram upload, Mount, who plays Captain Christopher Pike, shared that his castmate Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Christine Chapel, presented the show's stars with a farewell gift. The post showed that the present was a book that consisted of behind-the-scenes pictures of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds cast. Mount shared some of the images, which included pictures of him and his co-stars dozing on set while in their Starfleet uniforms. One of the pictures also showed the cast smiling brightly while posed closely together.

In the caption of the post, Mount expressed gratitude toward Bush for the gift.

"@onejessa was kind enough to put together this gorgeous book of her BTS photos and give a copy to each of the cast as a parting gift. This is bound to become one of my favorite pieces of nostalgia when I look back over my life and career. Hope you enjoy a few of these," read the caption.

'Star Trek' Fans Shared That They Appreciated Anson Mount's Post

Several fans flocked to the post's comments section to share that they appreciated Mount's post about Bush's parting gift.

"These are spectacular. You guys have been such a great cast," wrote a commenter.

"I love mementos like this! What a thoughtful gift from her. And I have to ask, how can you sleep in that chair," added another, in reference to the picture of Mount sleeping while sitting in a director's chair.

"What a great gift! What a cast. What a show. What a captain! We miss you already and the show isn't even over yet for us. Glad your memories are sweet," shared a different person.

"Oh this is so beautiful, you will all always be my favorite cast Thanks for sharing," commented a fan.

"Awww Anson, this is so wonderful. You all look so happy together in the photos," chimed in a fifth person.

Jess Bush Wasn't a 'Star Trek' Fan Until Playing Nurse Chapel

Bush began starring as Nurse Chapel during the first season of Star Trek: SNW, which premiered in 2022. The character of Nurse Chapel was originated by Majel Barrett in Star Trek: The Original Series, which aired for three seasons until 1969.

In a March 2025 interview with Michael Zavala, Bush stated that she wasn't a Star Trek fan before being cast as Chapel.

"Now I'm a huge fan of sci-fi and Star Trek," clarified Bush during the interview. "Star Trek itself, yeah, I mean I was aware of it as a cultural phenomenon. But I didn't really know that much about it when I booked the role."
