The Blind Side actor Quinton Aaron has reportedly been hospitalized in Atlanta after collapsing at his home.

Aaron, 41 — who played Michael Oher alongside Sandra Bullock in the 2009 film — was taken to the hospital after he fell while walking up the stairs in his apartment last week, according to TMZ. The outlet reported that the actor's legs suddenly stopped functioning.

A GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Aaron's family amid his health journey and ongoing medical treatment said that the star is "on life support due to a severe blood infection." The page also claimed that Aaron was fighting "for his life."

However, his manager confirmed to TMZ that Aaron is now stable and has been communicating with his team and his family. They added that doctors weren't sure what caused the fall as of yet, and said medics were still doing tests.

Aaron and his family have asked for privacy, according to TMZ. His rep told the outlet that they want fans to know they appreciate the well-wishes, prayers and love they've received.

Reps for Aaron did not immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE for comment.

Aaron's latest health scare comes after he was hospitalized in February of last year after coughing up blood and coming down with a fever, TMZ previously reported. Aaron said at the time that medics believed he was dealing with Type A flu, as well as pneumonia. He also suffered a severe upper respiratory infection back in 2019, according to the outlet.

In recent years, Aaron has spoken openly about his weight-loss journey, revealing in October that he'd lost 200 lbs.

Aaron wrote alongside two side-by-side photos of his body transformation on Instagram, “I am overwhelmed and blessed to announce that I have reached another cool milestone in my life."

“Today, when weighing myself, I noticed that I reached the 200-pound marker," he shared.

He explained in the post that he’d gone from his heaviest weight of 575 lbs. down to 375 lbs. after weighing himself that morning. "I know right, AMAZING!!! 🥳🎉 I have 55 more pounds to go to reach my over all goal of 320 lbs.,” he said, adding, “I GOT THIS!!!”

In February 2022, Aaron told TMZ that he'd dropped 100 lbs. after gaining weight during the COVID-19 pandemic due to binge-eating. He vowed to change his lifestyle habits by altering his diet and adding exercise to his routine.

In an interview with the Recovery Vow podcast in September of last year, Aaron discussed his binge-eating further.

“Food was my drug,” he said. “I was eating when I wasn't even hungry. Just going out and buying food and sitting in my car in the parking lot, eating it and crying and not knowing why. I'm like, ‘Why do I feel this way?’ ”
